Being pregnant and having a baby is a magical time. However, mums and their loved ones may be feeling concerned during this unprecedented time. The outbreak of COVID-19 has affected the landscape of all healthcare disciplines, including maternal and child health, creating challenges for the care of pregnant and birthing women and their families. JCU Nursing lecturer Chris Raines explores some of the issues and provides a snapshot of what midwives throughout Australia, both in hospitals and private practices, are doing to address these concerns.
