Confused about your career pathway or study options? Don't know where to start? We can not make the decision for you, but we have developed some tools that could assist you with making those big decisions.

Attending the Townsville Careers Expo is a great way to get information on a wide variety of study, career and employment options. You can talk to representatives and ask those important questions. You may also meet some students currently undertaking courses you are interested in and ask them what it is really like! You can  also meet with employers who have real jobs on offer. So if you are looking for the right job, check out the CCIQ link for "Jobseekers" and come to the expo prepared!

WorldSkills Australia Try'aTrade - Visitors to the expo can try their hands on a wide range of trade skills. It will be a fun, interactive area, that allows you to test, try and get your hands dirty!

The student worksheet is a really great tool to help you get started. The questions in the worksheet will give you a good idea about the type of questions you should be asking at the expo. If you have any further questions, check with you guidance officer or careers counsellor at school before you attend the expo.

Steps to Success

• Download the student worksheet, and complete a sheet for each career option you are interested in.
• Check exhibitor listing and circle the exhibitors you definitely want to have a chat too.
• Read the Townsville Bulletin Expo lift out feature which will be published e few days before the event and will contain the full exhibitor listing, articles on exhibitors and employers, list of jobs, seminar program and the floorplan, so you know where the different exhibitors are located in the venue.
• Make sure you check out the CCIQ - Jobseekers link if you are looking for a job so you know what to bring with you to the expo and come prepared
• Attend the event, go around and check out the different exhibitors and get all the information you need to make those important decisions! Good Luck!!
